Hardcore punk ferocious female fronted band takes the stage at Hamtramck’s local bar & venue, Small’s.
War On Women is a feminist band based out of Baltimore, Maryland that writes about various political themes such as; abortion rights, misogyny, and much more! With a strong sense of feminism the band remains diverse and co-ed.
Lead vocalist, Shawna Potter captivated the room with her outgoing and energetic stage presence. Dancing around the stage, not only interacting with her fellow bandmates but the crowd as well. War On Women commanded the room with their riff fueled songs and confrontational message.
W.O.W‘s most recent release is an album titled “Wonderful Hell” that dropped late 2020. The album is ultimately a call to action. The record discuses topics like; systematic racism, and even pokes fun at political situations that were relevant at the time of production. The groups message overall seemed to guide listeners towards finding/advocating change within the world, while allowing them to vent their resentments though music.
